The Black Dahlia Murders pay tribute to the Whitechapel Murders of Jack the Ripper.
The aim is to generate a timeline which doubles and halves the totals of the three sets generated by the Whitechapel Murders.
Black Dahlia Timetable
The Black Dahlia Timeable is in two parts. Part A covers the first five murders, while Part B covers a further fifteen attacks.
The first column in the Table gives the murder number. The M in the third column stands for Murder. The fifth column is the day of the year on which the Black Dahlia Avenger begins to stalk his prey. If there is more than one attack in a year, the day of the previous murder is deducted.
Part A is straightforward: the sum of the first, second and fifth values is 632 or twice 316 (see the first of the Jack the Ripper sets). The third and fourth values total 158 or half of 316.
Just as the third and fourth of the canonical five Ripper murders were a ‘double event,’ the Avenger treats his third and fourth murders as if they are a double event.
Since Irene Weeks’ body was never found, column 3 should show a D for Disappeared, rather than an M for Murder.
Part B
The A in the third column means assaulted but not killed, while the D means Disappeared.
The values are grouped into three lots of four and one lot of three as shown below.
Each of the groups are reduced to two values through subtraction.
Each of the ‘double event’ attacks is paired with the murder of Rosenda Mondragon.
